DAY HIKE: Contemplative Hiking + Community Cookout + Overnight Camping (optional)

Need a break from doom-scrolling and daily task-managing? Let’s carve out some time for the natural wonders of our Pennsylvania forests. Join us for a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in nature, solitude, and community. Reconnect with past participants and meet some new faces!

Date: May 31, 2025 (optional overnight camping)
Time: 10:00am-7:00pm (hiking from 11:00am-5pm)
Location: Tracy Ridge Hiking Area in Allegheny National Forest (click for brochure)
ALL are welcome! Great for kids.

Breakfast, coffee, and a post-hike cookout are provided. BYO hiking snacks or lunch. We will start the day with a short reading and thought-provoking prompt, followed by contemplative hiking in silence for the first half of the hike. This allows us time for reflection, solitude, and soaking up the peacefulness of nature. Continue the second half of the day in silence, OR join other participants in conversation as you hike! We will end our day gathering around at the campground for a cookout, campfire, and beverages before departure.

Tracy Ridge Hiking Area offers a variety of trail loops and distances to fit your desired hike for the day! We are not out to cover a specific distance, but instead to be immersed in nature for a specific time. Tracy Ridge is approx. 2.5 hours from Pittsburgh.
